I made a wreath using old ties.
Larry even recognized some of them.
"Where did those come from?"
I saved them knowing someday
I'd use them for something!
All I needed was a box of saved ties,
a straw wreath, and straight pins.
I made this last night while watching TV.
Leave the plastic on the wreath, less mess.
You could also use a foam wreath. Just fold
the tie in half, then in half again and wrap it
around the wreath so that the ends stick out.
Stick a pin in to hold in place, slightly overlapping.
You may need to stick an extra pin here or there.
I color coordinated the ties.
A nice memento of old tie-wearing days and
past Father's Day gifts.
Hanging on the pie safe.
This morning I hung it outside on the glass front doors.
Happy Father's Day!
Cheers!

Aww, I love this idea! What a nice way to use up those silk bibs that are stained too! LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteMay, I have been wanting to make this wreath for a long time. I have the ties but wasn't sure where I would put the wreath - in the closet? I didn't have space for that. But using it as a Father's Day decoration just put it in a new light for me and I will go ahead with my plans in making it for this Father's Day. Thanks for the inspiration!
